Machado Silvetti is an architecture, urban design and master planning firm known for distinctive spaces and unique works of architecture in the United States and abroad. We believe that design should exceed the merely functional or inevitable and that architecture can meaningfully advance society and culture. The work of Machado Silvetti has been widely recognized nationally and around the world for the consistent quality of its projects for universities, the arts, cultural institutions and the public realm.

We are currently seeking to fill the following positions.

Designer / Architect (3-5 years’ experience)

Position Requirements:

• Accredited Professional or Graduate degree in Architecture.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in an Architecture firm.
• Licensure is not required but progress toward licensure should be demonstrated.
• Must demonstrate experience working across all phases of design, preferably with academic and cultural institutions.
• Extensive proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office.
• Proven ability to build physical models.
• Skilled at multitasking and working toward multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work with lead designers and project management.
• Ability to oversee the work of others.
• Demonstrable skill in interior and exterior design and detailed visualization.
• Ability to coordinate typical building systems.
• Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally.

Designer / Architect (5-8 years’ experience)

Position Requirements:

• Accredited Professional or Graduate degree in Architecture.
• 5-8 years of professional experience in an Architecture firm.
• Licensure is desired but not required. At the very least progress toward licensure should be demonstrated.
• Demonstrate experience working across all phases of design, especially with academic and cultural institutions.
• Extensive proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office.
• Skilled at multitasking and working toward multiple deadlines.
• Ability to manage teams, workflow and production.
• Demonstrable knowledge in building detailing, possibly including weather enclosure, innovative envelope systems, interior details, etc.
• Demonstrable knowledge and ability to coordinate all typical building systems.
• Demonstrable skill in interior and exterior design and detailed visualization.
• Ability to collaborate with lead designers and project management.
• Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally.

Our office is in Boston’s South End, close to great restaurants, health clubs and entertainment. The office is accessible by the MBTA, car, walking , taxi/uber, and many of us ride our bikes in the nice months.
