On December 6, 2018 the final structural steel beam of Denver Art Museum’s new Welcome Center was placed in a topping-out ceremony. A major milestone for the project, which also includes the renovation of the Gio Ponti-designed North Building, the event was a celebratory one for the Museum, Construction and Design teams behind this important project. Principal Stephanie Randazzo Dwyer attended on behalf of Machado Silvetti.
With the Welcome Center topped out, the next phase of construction will involve setting the structural glass around the Center. The project is on time to fully reopen the Denver Art Museum’s campus toward the end of 2021.
