Lippincott & Marguiles Corporate Office Interior

The corporate headquarters of brand identity firm Lippincott & Margulies is located on two floors of a Park Avenue tower in Manhattan. The upper floor contains reception, offices, and conference spaces, while the lower level houses open-plan design studios. Arrival occurs on the upper floor, which is organized around a linear wood box containing administrative workstations, storage, a pantry, and other service program elements. This box is wrapped in fiddleback anigre veneer with a horizontal coursing of limestone.

Immediately adjacent, a hallway extends to both ends of the building — granting views down the expanse of Park Avenue. A freestanding wall of clear, sandblasted, and translucent blue glass panels encloses the partners' offices along the perimeter of the building. Each office contains a workstation and informal conference area. The material palette in the reception area is treated more sensuously. It includes wood, perforated aluminum, blackened steel, glass, and terrazzo. Originating in the elevator as a wall surface, the terrazzo wraps down to form a bench, continues into the reception area as flooring, and turns upwards to form a reception desk.
