In November, Rodolfo Machado was featured in the inaugural event of the new Rhode Island School of Design lecture series, the Rodolfo Machado Fund, founded in his honor. The event included a conversation with Rodolfo and an archival exhibition of selected work from Rodolfo's studios and seminars during his tenure at RISD as faculty member and Chair of the Department of Architecture (1978-86).

Inaugural Lecture

The Rodolfo’s inaugural lecture was moderated by Nader Tehrani and included a panel conversation of architects and former students including Scott Cohen, Jane Duff Gleason, Rodolphe El Khoury, Michael Maltzan, Elizabeth Ranieri, Jennifer Schab and Dan Wheeler.

The Rodolfo Machado Fund was, established in 2021 by generous alumni and friends, the lectureship honors Rodolfo and is intended, “to attract speakers focused on complex global issues impacting architecture's conception, design and implementation.”


The Dallas Architecture Forum Lecture Series

In early November, Rodolfo was featured in The Dallas Architecture Forum Lecture Series. The Lecture Series features, “emerging voices as well as established leaders from the allied fields of architecture and design.” Rodolfo discussed some of the most notable Machado Silvetti projects that have involved the expansion and renovation of existing buildings.

 “The Dallas Architecture Forum educates, enriches and connects our community by presenting programs and events, creating experiences, and engaging global and local thought-leaders from the design fields to enhance how we live.”

  • In early fall 2023, Harvard University Graduate School of Design hosted the exhibition, “Unprecedented Realism: Selections from the Rodolfo Machado and Jorge Silvetti Collection,” marking both the Frances Loeb Library’s acquisition of the Rodolfo Machado and Jorge Silvetti Collection and Jorge’s retirement from the GSD.

  • Rodolfo and Jorge were recognized as the 2021 Boston Society for Architecture Award of Honor.
