
Mr. Hirschmann received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Hobart College in 1988 and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland School of Architecture in 1993, that included a study abroad program to Japan with the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Architecture. He joined Machado and Silvetti Associates in 2010, bringing extensive design detailing and project execution experience to the office on a wide range of building types: museums, laboratories, universities, cultural institutions and residential projects.
Prior to joining Machado and Silvetti Associates, Mr. Hirschmann worked with the Polshek Partnership Architects in New York City, Perkins + Will in Atlanta, and the winner of the AIA New York, New Practices 2008 Competition, David Wallance Architect. Major projects included: the University of Michigan Biomedical Research Laboratory, the New York Hall of Science, and a patented modular building system for Global Building Modules. In addition to his work experience, Mr. Hirschmann has taught architectural design at Auburn University and has served on design juries at numerous universities in the United States.
Currently he is project architect for the NYU Center for Academic and Spiritual Life in New York City during the construction administration phase, performing structural steel review and continuing to develop the building’s perforated stone ventilated curtain wall with the facade manufacturer.
