Principal, Stephanie Randazzo Dwyer and Senior Associate, Austin Ward spoke at the New England Museum Association’s Annual Conference in Portland, ME on the process behind developing a campus master plan for the New Bedford Whaling Museum (NBWM), the largest whaling museum in the world. They were joined by Amanda McMullen, NBWM President and Chief Executive Officer and Naomi Slipp, NBWM’s Douglas and Cynthia Crocker Endowed Chair for the Chief Curator and Director of Museum Learning.

Completed in early 2023, the master plan provides a framework for sustainable long-range growth through phased expansion and renovation projects to reorganize, enhance and add to the NBWM’s campus.

Machado Silvetti is currently working with NBWM on the first phase of the master plan, a new temporary exhibitions and gallery building on Williams Street, across from the existing main entrance.
