The Arts

For nearly four decades Machado Silvetti has been designing architecture that is both expressive of certain ideas and the space for the generation, sharing, and launching of other ideas. This double commitment, to architecture that communicates values and architecture that supports creativity, is found throughout all of our work but is especially potent in our designs for the arts, including those facilities for the fine arts and performing arts, where art and design are studied as a primary medium for engaging the world around us.

We have worked with arts institutions including the Kennedy Center for Theater and the Studio Arts at Hamilton College and the College of Visual Art and Design at the University of North Texas, hubs of innovation, collaboration, experimentation, and artistic expression. These projects demonstrate the power of thoughtful design to support and enhance the creative process, and the impact it can have on the surrounding community.

"Architecture has the power to transcend the physical, to inspire and elevate the human spirit. In our work with performing and visual arts institutions, we strive to create spaces that enhance and amplify the creative process.”
