Allyn Innovation Center and Link Hall Renovation
Description
The Bill and Penny Allyn Innovation Center (AIC) provides activity and learning space for the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University. The program and design create opportunities for student support—from initial recruitment, advising, and curriculum, to research and internship opportunities, and career planning. Located on the first floor of Link Hall, the AIC lies at the heart of the student experience and is surrounded by project rooms and classrooms.
The renovation of the West entrances and the replaced South enhance and expand access to the AIC. The renovation of the majority of the first floor improved the building’s life safety, electrical, and mechanical system, alongside substantial upgrades for thr Collges’s student facing programs.
New low-slope ramps and integrated landscaping at the main quad entrance resolve the existing grade change and unify the uneven topography. By improving accessibility, infrastructure, and functionality, this wide-reaching project enhances the daily experience for students, faculty, and visitors alike.
