Jefferson Residence Hall
Description
The Jefferson Residence Hall at the University of Cincinnati creates a dynamic environment for student life and a new benchmark for campus housing. The design introduces a 250-bed freshman/sophomore dormitory; a 150-bed junior/senior dormitory; administrative offices; a living-learning center with study spaces, classrooms, and conference rooms; a kitchen and dining hall; faculty apartments; and outdoor green space.
The building’s angular form adjusts itself to the landscape architect’s master plan and the existing site conditions. The rhythmic facade adds a layer of visual interest from the promenade level. Overall, the complex encourages the interaction of the disparateprogrammatic elements, supporting a mix of social, residential, and educational facilities not currently present on campus.
