Nicolas Viterbo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and received his Diploma in Architecture from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. As Director of the Buenos Aires office, he coordinates the administration and all aspects of projects and competitions—from basic design through construction documents—in Argentina and South-America. This broadens Machado Silvetti's practice within these specific contexts.
Nicolas joined Machado and Silvetti in 2009 as Designer for The Westown Development Project, Forty West—an 830,000 s.f. residential complex in Westown outside of Cairo, Egypt—that includes housing, retail, an office building and a hotel. He has also worked as part of the design team on a 390,000 s.f. office building competition project for Banco Ciudad Buenos Aires, the Centro Civico Reconquista Competition and Patio Bullrich Feasibility Study.
From 2011-12, Nicolas worked in Machado Silvetti's Boston office, collaborating with the principals on both small and large-scaled international and domestic projects. Most notably, he was part of the team of the Asian Art Study Center at the Ringling Museum Art and the Loteria National Competition. After returning to Buenos Aires in 2012, Nicolas developed the Library building for the Vietnamese-German University Competition.
In addition to his work in the office, Nicolas teaches in the Architecture, Urbanism and Design School at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. There, he directs the Research Scholarship Team for "Ciudad - Densidad - Habitar." He is a frequently invited critic for student work and seminars, and in 2013 coordinated the "Habitar el Futuro" workshop in the FADU Bienal of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Nicolas is also coordinator of the Cooperativa de Arquitectura's Architecture and Urbanism Research Unit.
